A Romanian court has just ruled that controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan can be extradited to Britain.

Tristan, 35, and Andrew Tate, 37, were also detained in Bucharest on Monday after Bedfordshire Police obtained arrest warrants.

A judge ruled that the brothers could be extradited only after the conclusion of their separate trials in Romania on human trafficking charges.

He has been released from custody.

Speaking outside the court, Andrew Tate said: “We are innocent individuals and everyone will see that in time. We are very excited to end this judicial process and clear our names.”

The brothers, who “categorically deny all charges”, remain under judicial control in Romania that prevent them from traveling outside the country.

Even before the extradition was granted by the Court of Appeal in Bucharest, Bedfordshire Police confirmed it had obtained arrest warrants for two men in their 30s as part of an investigation into allegations of rape and human trafficking.

“We understand this is a deeply disturbing topic and that people may be influenced by what they see in the news,” the force said in a statement.

According to the brothers’ legal representatives the allegations date back to 2012-2015.
