UK weather latest: Up to 35cm snow expected in most parts of UK
As the UK gets ready for severe snow and freezing rain this weekend, temperatures have dropped as low as -8.6C, and up to 30 cm of snowfall is predicted in certain places. In the meantime, a man perished in the Lake District after plummeting 70 meters from a high ridge.
Northern England, the Midlands, and a large portion of Wales are under amber warnings starting Saturday night and continuing through Sunday. Other regions, like as Scotland and Northern Ireland, are under less severe yellow warnings.
In rural Scotland, temperatures dropped as low as -8.6C over night, and an Arctic wind is predicted to keep the severe weather going into next week.
In the upcoming days, the Met Office warned, the wintry weather could lead to significant travel disruptions, power outages, and the closure of some rural settlements.
